All texts are analyzed prior to assigning them to a translator of the appropriate expertise. Whenever possible, the translators receive reference materials (customer-specific terminology glossaries, translation memories and/or earlier translations approved by the customers). Special attention is paid to the specific instructions and formatting so that the translated document resembles the original as much as possible. All project stages are controlled using Workflow Forms which contain all project data, and are signed by the project manager and all other parties participating in the project. Our Management Information System allows controlling project status (on-time and on-budget), consistency with instructions and other quality parameters. Upon terminating translation, the project passes to the quality assurance stage. Project managers coordinate editing and proofreading and the customer is consulted about any problems or doubts. Each text received from our external contractor or freelance translator undergoes a three-stage verification / revision procedure: It is compared against the original and verified for completeness (correction of mistakes in numerical data and proper names as well as possible omissions by the translator). An editor detects any terminological and grammatical mismatch between the source and the target. Finally the text is improved from the linguistic point of view to make it sound as natural as possible in the target language. Apart from the translation quality, this process also ensures that any discontinuities in the original text overlooked by the author and translator are traced and verified. In such cases, the customer is contacted to approve the changes.
